One login for all your children

If you have more than one child on Smart School, you do not need a separate login for each. One email and one password covers all of them — whether they are in different classes at the same school, or at two different schools altogether.

Two children at the same school

Say your son is in Std 5 and your daughter is in Std 7 at the same school. Both are connected to the same email address, so when you sign in you see both.

At the top of every screen there is a child switcher showing whose information you are looking at. Tap it, pick the other child, and homework, attendance, fees and report cards all change to that child. You stay exactly where you were — if you were on the Attendance screen, you land on the other child's Attendance screen.

Children at two different schools

This works too, as long as both schools have you on the same email address. Both children appear in the same list, each labelled with their school. Children at another school are marked with a ⇄; pick one and Smart School takes you to that school for you. You are not asked to sign in again.

Everything on one screen

Parents with more than one child also get an All my children screen: today's attendance for each child, what homework is waiting, and what fees are due — with the totals kept separate per school, because each school collects its own fees.

How you get connected

You do not sign yourself up. The school connects you:

1. The school office adds you as a guardian of your child, using your email address.
2. If you are new to Smart School, you get an invitation email — tap the link and choose a password.
3. If you already have a login (because another child is already on Smart School), there is nothing to set up. The new child simply appears the next time you sign in, and your existing password still works.

Good to know

• Use one email everywhere. This is the whole trick: your email is your identity. If one school has you@example.com and the other has a different address, they become two separate accounts. Ask the school office to correct it and the two join up.
• One password, everywhere. Change it once and it changes for every child and every school.
• Each child's information stays separate. Your children cannot see each other's homework or results, and schools cannot see each other's data.
• Different guardians can have different rights. A school can let one parent pay fees while another only follows attendance, and it can differ per child.
